Since 2012, children services agencies, partners, and businesses across Ohio have shown support for child abuse prevention by participating in “Wear Blue,” a statewide awareness campaign that takes place on the second Wednesday of every April, Child Abuse Prevention Month. Ohioans are encouraged to wear blue that day—to work, to school, to a community event, or at home—to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect.

How Can You Help Support Child Abuse Prevention Efforts?
Wear Blue is one small way to raise awareness and show support for child abuse prevention, but child welfare agencies and organizations across the country need help from everyone to help keep kids safe.
What should you do if you suspect child abuse and/or neglect? Here are some resources to help:
- Child Welfare Information Gateway: How to Report Suspected Child Maltreatment
- Children’s Bureau: What should I do if I suspect child about and/or neglect?
- Call your local child welfare agency using this list by state from the Child Welfare Information Gateway
You can also visit the National Child Abuse Prevention Month (Children’s Bureau) and 2022 Child Abuse Prevention Month (Prevent Child Abuse America) websites for additional resources and ways to get involved.
